Production Team Leader

Department: Quality Control
Location: Lumberton, NJ

Summary:  Production Team Leaders manage staff to attain production and quality goals. Identify and resolve problems and obstacles within production processes. Ensure production resources including materials, equipment, and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules and customer requirements. Team Leaders support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for owning and managing various functions of production and creating an engaged and team oriented work force. Team Leaders act as a liaison between the team and the rest of the organization. Team Leaders adhere and promote the mission, vision and guiding principles of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to the shift or work cell
  • Ensure security of facility during designated shift hours
  • Accountable for ensuring that all employees are at their assigned stations at all times during their assigned work hours
  • Monitor and correct any unsafe acts or conditions. Report all incidents (spills, accidents, injuries)
  • Facilitate effective communication between operators and all levels of the organization
  • Provide timely responses to customer requests and schedule changes
  • Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of workplace rules and policies
  • Ensure team members are following standard work.
  • Partner with the Production manager to monitor daily production performance, perform visual checks and participate in the Continuous Improvement process
  • Investigate and report all manufacturing obstacles, apply countermeasures as necessary
  • Lead the team in the collection and analysis of data related to operational issues and improvement projects
  • Responsible to provide inputs to the annual performance evaluation of employees.
  • Ensure all employees are  provided with appropriate training and development
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work place in accordance with 5S protocols
  • Insure consumable supplies are stocked and communicate reorders as necessary
  • Assemble and pack product as necessary
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

 

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes
  • Must be able prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while applying the concepts of lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by production schedule
  • In depth understanding of established ICC and Trek Connect values and strategies
  • Working knowledge of the application of the 7 Basic Quality Tools
  • Basic understanding of computers and iPads
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to Detail

Education and Experience

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma with 5 or more years experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Upon selection for these positions, candidates will commit themselves to a development plan to acquire the skills and aptitude necessary to be successful.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • IPC-A610/A620 knowledge required.  Valid Certification is a plus.
